iPhone Portrait Session – Amy and Tim

I’m super stoked to be posting my latest outdoor photo session because it was all taken on my iPhone 3 and edited entirely with iPhone apps. Yes, iPhone all the way (except to actually post on the blog…) Why you ask? Because I love what the iPhone and its many photo apps can do for me. I’m notorious for shooting with it every day. Its a creative practice I started months ago but this was my first time I ever staged a session just for this medium. I know that I am not the only wedding photog to do this but I’m still excited for me. And for Tim and Amy. Because they look so stinkin’ cute together and with their little Remus (who has become fast friends with our dog, Swiss).

Tim and Amy were so awesome to pose for me while on our little trip to the lake in East Texas this spring break. Now you’ll see them again, at least twice. Their “real engagement session” will be taken in Ft. Worth, Texas next monthd (with more professional equipment)  and I can’t wait. (If they are going to look just as cute, I will probably freak and cry. Just saying.)

I do want to say that I currently have a love/hate relationship with my iPhone 3 because “its getting old”. There are serious issues with the iPhone 3′s gps system but my camera still works and they keep comeing up with the photo-apps. I say keep them coming. Its my favorite toy and the only camera I always have with me. I’ve got to say this straight up… I LOVE MY iPHONE …camera that is!

Johanna and Michael’s engagement session Part 1

Like all the southern states, Texas is freezing. Winter is officially here. And on Sunday morning I woke up to all my facebook friends posting about all the snow that was not only coming down but also sticking! So of course this needed to be documented. Originally scheduled for a later date I was able to get Johanna and Michael on board for a wintry engagement session. This engagement session took place at a nature preserve. A beautiful location that they spend a lot of time in together with their three dogs. Even though it is January, I still find beauty in nature among her fallen leaves and trees. Obviously you don’t see any snow in these pictures because we weren’t as lucky as the folks in Denton were so our snowy engagement session turned into a super cold engagement session but still an awesome one at that. The nature preserve was very interesting! I can’t wait to go back on a less muddy day and get more shots of Johanna and Michael. Until then, please enjoy these…

Engagement Ceremony of Sherin and Tigy

Two years ago, I had the pleasure of working with Bombay Photography in photographing Kavita’s wedding and was delighted to be requested for Sherin’s engagement ceremony! This family is so sweet and genuine! Their mother treated me as a daughter and made sure I was always comfortable with snacks and chai! The most favorite part for me when photographing a clients “getting-ready” photos is when you know everyone is comfortable and happy; not stressed with wedding arrangements or concerned with this “stranger in the corner-with a possible unforgiving camera angle on a gal”. A few of my clients, Kavita and Sherin included, have had my help getting dressed in their saris! I don’t always have my camera in my face. I guess my Gujarati background makes me notorious for meticulous sari wearing. What ever it is, glad to help!
